Braniff International’s history can be traced back to 1928 and the company's long and tumultuous history make it one of the most interesting of American airline stories. Once renowned in the industry for it's level of service and innovation, Braniff's fleet at one time stabled planes with paint schemes by the famous architect and textile pioneer Alexander Girard - the famous "jellybean fleet". Hired in 1965 to revamp the airline's look, he designed over 17,000 items for the airline - down to the sugar packets. This logo is a slight artistic adaptation of a corporate logo also designed by Girard for Braniff and used in various ways in the organization, such as hostesses medallions.
